Furnishing Details of Outward Supply with Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF)
The Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF) is a feature under the QRMP Scheme that allows registered persons to furnish the details of their outward supplies for the first two months of the quarter. Here are the key points to understand about the IFF:
Purpose of IFF: The IFF enables registered persons to provide information about their B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2C (Business-to-Consumer) outward supplies made during the first two months of the quarter. This helps in the timely reporting of transactions to the recipients and facilitates seamless input tax credit (ITC) claims.
Timeline for IFF: The IFF can be accessed on the GST portal and is available for furnishing the details of outward supplies from the 1st day to the 13th day of the succeeding month. In other words, it is open for a window of 13 days after the end of the month.
Nature of Supplies: With the IFF, you can provide information about both B2B and B2C supplies. B2B supplies refer to transactions made to registered persons, while B2C supplies pertain to transactions made to unregistered persons or consumers.
Details to be Furnished: When using the IFF, you need to provide the following details for each transaction:
- Invoice number and date
- Customer's GSTIN (for B2B supplies)
- Place of supply
- HSN/SAC (Harmonized System of Nomenclature / Services Accounting Code)
- Taxable value
- Tax amount (CGST, SGST, IGST, and Cess, if applicable)
Reporting in GSTR-1: The details provided through the IFF will be auto-populated in the GSTR-1 return for the respective quarter. Therefore, it is crucial to accurately furnish the information in the IFF to ensure correct reporting in the GSTR-1.
ITC Claim by Recipients: Recipients of your supplies can claim input tax credit (ITC) based on the information provided in the IFF. Hence, it is important to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the details furnished.
By utilizing the IFF, you can promptly report your outward supplies for the first two months of the quarter, enhancing compliance and enabling seamless ITC claims for your customers. Remember to adhere to the timelines and provide accurate details to ensure smooth business operations.
